We are excited to announce March's spin-in.  We are pairing with Traveling Vineyard to offer our first Sip & Spin.  Enjoy sampling 5 wines while we study heritage sheep breeds.

For the month of March, we will be studying Navajo-Churro.  I love this breed!  If you want a strong yarn for tapestry weaving or bags, this is the breed for you.  We will discuss how to spin this magnificent fiber and even get a little hands on with it.  Please RSVP to make sure we have fiber available for you.  This is a 21+ event and limited to only 10 spinners.  Bring you spinning wheels, notebook and any additional fiber you would like to spin.

When:  March 23, 2019
Time:  11-2

Chicha has been a part of the ranch for about a year now.  Many of you have seen her at the mill, at TSC or in nursing homes.  She is still working on her training to become a therapy animal.  I have put together a video so you can see her spoiled life.  All of you who have asked about her, Thanks!

We finally have the videos up and running!!  Technology is a wonderful thing . . . when it works.
Have fun.  We will upload the coat pattern next week.  Please share your experimentations with the other people in the knit-a-long.  Post them to our Facebook page.  It would definitely encourage everyone to make their machines sing.

Hi Everyone.
I hope you are as excited as we are to start the knit-a-long.  Yesterday we realized there were a few technical issues in uploading the videos.  We figured out the problem, finally.  The videos are being uploaded as we speak.  I am hoping they will be available as soon as tonight or first thing in the morning.  Sorry for the delay.

It is our pleasure to bring this year long technique based extravaganza to you.  Each quarter we will explore in depth a new machine knitting technique.  Videos are not machine specific so everyone, even us Passap users, can join in on the fun.

Information on how to join can be found here.  The knit-a-long will officially go live January 15, 2019.  We look forward to exploring the ability of our machines with you!

Okay, the weather doesn't quite agree with me but shearing has begun.  It's not too late to get last year's fiber in for processing.  Don't let your basement look like our storage unit.

This beautiful locally grown wool will become lovely knitwear and socks.  Visit us at the shop or any of our shows to see the final product.

Shearing Season Fast Approaching

2/2/2018

Can you believe it is February already?  Shearing season starts next month.  If you still haven't processed your fleeces from last year, we are going to give you a chance to get it done before the rush begins.  Through the month of February, we will process your roving for half price.  Your order must be paid in full when dropped off.   The half price special is for roving only.  This does not include combed top, yarn or knitting services.

We hope this will help you get ready for spring and keep those pesky moths out of your prized fleeces.

Video Modules Coming Soon

8/10/2017

We are almost finished with the first set of video classes.  Then we hit a snag.   We want to keep the classes generic and not machine focused.  We wanted to be able to tell you to "put your machine to hold" and have everyone know how to do it on their particular machine.

So, we had to take a step back.  We are currently making a series of beginner videos.  These videos will show how to perform each technique on the 3 major machine types, Brother, Singer and Passap.

Once we finish recording, editing and proofing, we will release the first set of beginner videos and the first set of modules.  Keep your eyes peeled.

There has been a large request for us to bring back the machine knitting boot camp. There is a lot of planning for such an event.  Literally, the day after the event was over we began planning the next.  After giving it A LOT of though, I think I found a solution. We will offer an online machine knitting boot camp.

How Does It Work?

We will post instruction modules.  The techniques will range from beginner to advanced. You can sign up for one or multiple modules.  You will have access to our video or photo gallery instructions.  You can ask questions via the comment section in that particular section.  At the end of each module, a project utilizing the techniques learned will be posted reinforcing your new skill!
We have begun recording the first set of modules.  More to come!
